WHAM! and pgEd: Genomics and Gender

November 8th, 2018

Genome Advisory joined WHAM! (Women's Health Access Matters) and pgEd (Personal Genetics Education Project) in the laboratory of Dr. Ting Wu at the Department of Genetics, Harvard Medical School, to explore the powerful interplay between genomics and gender.

Carolee Lee introduced the WHAM! initiative's focus on the critical need for gender equity in four areas of medical research: autoimmune, brain, cardiovascular disorders and cancer. Ting Wu addressed the mission of pgEd in the education of all communities and populations.

Our three organizations are united in passion and purpose to incorporate the lens of genomics to further social justice and advance health as a universal human right.
